In another powerful moment from a recent community conversation, Samah Jabr speaks directly to those outside Palestine who ask, “How can we help?” Her answer is clear: challenge the institutions that claim neutrality while remaining silent about genocide, torture, and systemic violence. She names how health institutions, universities, and professional bodies often invoke “objectivity” or “apolitical stances” to avoid condemning what is happening. But this neutrality, she argues, is not neutral at all, it becomes a form of complicity. When medical associations refuse to name deliberate attacks on hospitals, when psychological bodies avoid acknowledging structural oppression, when institutions silence Palestinian voices in the name of balance, they are not protecting ethics. They are protecting comfort. Dr. Jabr calls on practitioners, scholars, and students to speak within their own institutions. To refuse sanitized language. To insist that ongoing violence be named as such. Solidarity, she reminds us, is not symbolic, it is institutional, relational, and often uncomfortable. #SamahJabr #LiberationPsychology #EndMedicalComplicity #SpeakUp #HealthJustice #Palestine #IfIMustDie #CollectiveResponsibility
